Went for a 4 hour or so ride today with Jim and Matt, on a glorious sunny spring day. I left the house fairly early on after a bit of bottom bracket fettling, and headed up to the teashack on Caerphilly mountain for a cup of coffee before hitting a few descents on the way back down to Morganstown.
After that we ended up on top of the Garth via Tyn Y Coed woods, and then dropped down to Badger and Bodger.
I love this time of year... the bluebells are out, and the ferns, nettles and brambles are yet to encroach on the trails. All rather fleeting though as it only seems to stay like that for a couple of weeks, after which we head (hopefully) into summer. Next stop is our assault on the Snowdonia Rangers' Path and the Dyfi Enduro, which is going to be a fantastic break from reality for a couple of days - I just hope the weather holds.
